World Environment Day is the largest annual event organized by the United Nations (UN) to create awareness and action for protecting our environment. The key signs that it gives knowledge among the people of the world about the importance of nature.

In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly started World Environment Day, which is the first conference on the human environment and interventions. It happened in Stockholm.

What is the Theme and Significance of World Environment Day 2021?

The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is – ‘Reimagine. Re-create. Restore’. The world health organization(WHO) joined with United Nations(UN) to lead and work together for retaining our ecosystem – Restore the Ecosystem. This year, Pakistan is the global host to highlight the importance of establishing habitat restoration.

World Environment Day is the largest annual event organized by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness about the importance of nature. In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly established World Environment Day, the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. The theme of World Environment Day 1974 was – One Earth Only. Since then, it has been hosted by various countries around the world. World Environment Day was celebrated in the United States in 1974 for the first time.
